Ok, amazingly enough something worked. LISTEN I am here to help, I was another frustrated person who took hours to work. Something was blocking it from connecting to the internet. STRANGELY ENOUGH, I didnt use what this guy gave me. I used different codes:

regsvr32 Softpub.dll
Mssip32.dll
Initpki.dll

GIVE THEM AGO! I did, and im just another random with a problem.. I was starting to think to myself, Nah my computers different mines worse out of all of em, but this worked. Give it ago

Last one takes longer to proccess..

WRITE BACK IF WORKED!

Hi,

I just bought a Belkin G Wireless Router. MSN stopped running Error code 8100030c. I set MTU to 1492. Still didn't work. New Error Code 81000306. Then tried this trick (like posted above) with open msn:

regsvr32 softpub.dll mssip32.dll initpki.dll

then closed msn, opened again, logged in, works great, thanks a lot!!!

Hey

It took a while but I eventually found an answer on here that did the trick - now I'm back up and running. Mint!

It would be great if all the erroneous and profane whingers that posted comments on this blog could either be removed or relegated to the bottom of the post so that they don't get in the way of all the quality advice available here.

I realise that most people would have found the answers they need and stopped reading by now but if I could offer just a smidgen of advice to those bloggers with nothing constructive to add but their mis-spelled and profoundly offensive goanings.....

Perhaps a blog on a really lucid dating website could provide you with the good hard jolt up the tailpipe you need to remove the error code in your personality.

Thanks for a wonderful blog.

Hi all, I recently had a similar problem, none of the other fixes seemed to work, but then found the solution (for me) was to disable the MSN Protection in my AVG 8 Antivirus software (Web Shield / Instant Messaging / untick MSN Protection).

Logged in straight away after disabling that.

So if you have AVG antivirus and none of the above fixes help you, try this!!

This didn't work for me...BUT thx anyway.I found another new solution for those idiots swearing like a sailor!CHANGE YOUR MODEM!!!
OK,I m not a techno geek,so my solution MAYBE wrong.I changed mine and I could enter msn and other sites!!!I know why u need to change ur modem. If your modem is very cheap, then it doesn't have a license.IT IS ILLEGAL to buy a modem that doesn't have a license!!!If you encounter a problem, microsoft secretly troubleshoot the problem. If they found out that your modem doesn't have a license,THEY'LL block that modem from entering msn.
So...those ppl that have an illegal modem that still CAN enter msn,PRAY to god that microsoft did not troubleshoot any problem u encounter!!!

Just make sure you type in the command exactly how its shown in the screenshot. Then you need to wait for the popup window to appear telling you each of the three are "ok" ... once youve clicked on all three "ok" 's, then youre good to go

better shut down your MSN while youre doing it too

Guys,

When I did the thing i the picture, it didn't work. But then I went to Windows Task Manager, then went to the proceses tab and deleted "msnmsgr.exe" in the list. I opened Messenger again and it was fixed!

I suggest exiting messenger and opening it back up once you have done what is shown in the picture.

This fix worked a treat - be careful how you copy the 3 command lines and I suggest you use copy/paste rather that copy typing.

There were many rude and immature posts here which are people who should stay at throwing teddies out of their prams rather than insulting others who are trying to help them!

Thanks again

Anonymous said...

I have had these stupid random errors before on Vista, the way i fixed it instantly was to go into my Network connection properties and remove the tick from the box for IPv6 (TCP/IP). And for those bagging Vista it has problems like any other OS has had, so learn how to use it and fix them and quit whining, Vista SHITS on XP, and stop living in the past as XP is so far past it's use by date.

It works but quit msn first.

Anonymous said...

Worked for me. Thanks. But why? This has been a multiple repeat problem that I could only resolve through a full re-installation previously. MSN or Microsoft help was utterly useless. That is the ultimate WTF? I will never be happy until I know why. Also it works for me but not others here.

Anonymous said...

i know how just clear internet cache files and cookies and that 3 dll. waste my time to fix stupid msn

Anonymous said...

For newbies looking at all the negative comments, I wouldn't listen. This site has been my MSN saviour more than once... however I got a new laptop and it says
regsvr32 Initpki.dll doesn't work? I don't know if it's saying that because this lappie is new or not, but if it WAS valid I know my msn would be working [ I trust this site extremely ], but I just need my msn working again .-.
Someone edit the codes ti valid ones for new laptops, please?

Hello guys...

First believe me i have been trying to find a solution to this error for a LONG TIME.. and at last i got it.. I TAKE ABSOLUTLY NO CREDIT FOR MYSELF... I got this solution from the staff of Windows Live Messenger.. I just want to help you guys to find it..
This solution is for VISTA users... ONLY...
I will copy and paste the rest from the reply i got from Live support.. Here It Is...
If you are using Windows Vista, disable the Auto Tuning Networking feature: a. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
b. Click Continue when Windows requests permission to continue.
c. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: "netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled"
Note This command disables the Window Auto Tuning feature.

After you disable the Auto Tuning Networking feature, verify if you are able to sign into Messenger.

THIS WORKED FINE FOR ME AND I JUST WANTED TO HELP... again i take no credit for myself..

Anonymous said...

Thanx a lot for your help! works everytime :)

I'm no genius but give this a try! btw, the 3rd dll thingy could not be located on my computer. I have Vista.

I tried everything online to fix this error. What happened was that my messenger stopped working in the middle of a session, I logged out and when I tried to log in it refused for about 3 hours.

Eventually as a last ditch effort I changed my password and I could sign in. Why this worked I have no idea. I mean I was signing back in without having changed the password.
