Fix 8100030e and 800701f6 Errors
When you start MSN Messenger or WLM (Windows Live Messenger), you are unable to sign in the following message is displayed:
"Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporary unavailable." Error Code: 800701f6 or 8100030e.
Tips to solve this error:
1) Register softpub.dll.
Click Start Button, then click Run, type regsvr32 softpub.dll. Restart MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger.
2) You may need to MSN Messenger (Windows Live Messenger) to the allowed list of programs in your firewall.
3) Double click on the clock in the Windows taskbar and make sure the system clock is set correctly.

how do i bypass this problem. i'm working through a german vpn but i'm physically in Israel. i'm pretty sure the msn misrecognizwes my time.

I just fixed 8100030e. Thanks for help msn-errors team.
it is not working for me either. it actually occured after I made some changes on the msconfig>sturtup options. but i dont want to take the changes back since it takes millions of minutes for my comp. to start :(

It fixed error code 8100030e. It seems to be working just fine. You might have to run it twice, it didn't work the 1st for me. Don't forget the . at the end.
hi,, i do have the same problem,, but this solution have not solved my problem,
further more.,, apart from having 800701f6 error while signing in to msn messenger, i do have problems in opening web sites like hotmail.com, orkut.com etc, but except these whole internet just work fine.
also, when i use e-messenger, it logs me in, shows me my messenger, but after a while, it too appears to be blocked. furthermore, i searched google for web msn messengers, and whatever web messenger i use, it firstly logs me in, but after a while it also got blocked, it seems like i have a trojan or some kind of spyware, who is maintaing a list to block what i m using, i contacted my network administrator, and he told me that he is unaware of such activites, neither he is doing so on isa.
plz ... help me out before somebody spy me :(

Hi all. The dll and avg didn't work for me. I'm using the AVG 8.5 and it doesn't have the disable feature.
matt caplin's solution worked for me. Nothing got to do with ZoneAlarm.
Just delete the files with your email address on it. Problem solved. =)
