Msn Errors Are you looking for Windows Live Messenger and MSN fixes? This is right place for you!
Msn Errors

The following message could not be delivered to all recipients

This has been notified - do not panic, it is not just you. This problem has been happening for a few days to many people. Msn is aware (see their homepage) and are fixing the problem. Should be fixed within the week.

Use webmessenger until we figure out how to solve it.

http://webmessenger.msn.com or http://iloveim.com

Check also MSN Service status: http://status.messenger.msn.com/Status.aspx

Update: It seems the service is returning to normal. I would suggest signing out and back in again if you are still receiving the error. Apparently engineers investigated the problem and found a fix.

If none of these methods listed above won't work, we recommend you to run registry fix tool.

Typical with microsoft. Nothing ever works. They charge outragious prices for their products and what do we get? A useless paperweight cd. My windows xp home runs so slow i swear i can go smoke two ciggeretts and internet explorer wont be up and running yet. and this is on a fresh format and reinstall on a 2.2 ghz system. but windows 98, melennium, xp pro, and all those work great. Ill never buy windows vista. Not until it has been on the market for 10 years.

Anonymous said...

Well it says here that the service is returning to normal, and if it doesnt work and you are still receiving the error to sign out and sign back in again. Well I for one can say I am still receiving the error and I can sign out and back in as often as I like and it is still there!!!! Please, Please, Please MS, find a fix to this problem cause it has obviously not been fixed yet!!!!

I found on another forum..if you are experiencing the problem where no one can message you..eg you can message people..but if they are messaging you they receive "The following message could not be delivered to all recipients" and you receive no replies. it seems to work if you keep your message window open it allows them to send a reply to you without encountering the "The following message could not be delivered to all recipients" message

Anonymous said...

I am experiencing the problem where no one can message me..eg I can message people..but if they are messaging me they receive "The following message could not be delivered to all recipients" and I receive no replies, unless i keep the chat window open...
If i change to another messenger acount everything works ok, but with my usual acount i'm having troubles!!!!

As of 20-Jan-07, I am having the same problem as Luis (previous post). I've used Messenger 7.5, Windows Live and Web Messenger, all on different computers, locations, etc..

This is very annoying.

Anonymous said...

Same problem as Luis - this strange behaviour started a few days ago...

Hello!

Nobody can contact me nd i mean, NOBODY!
it has been going bon for a week now. I tried EVERYTHING, it must be with the micro$oft.
Pleeease fix it!

Anonymous said...

I see many people got the same problem as me. Now im pretty sure I will never buy a single object from Microsoft!

Anonymous said...

I am continuing to experience the problem where no one can message me unless i start the conversation and keep chat windows alive...
I have also tried the Windows Mobile Messenger software on my PDA and the problem is the same. If i change to another messenger acount everything works fine.
I think this problem is associated with some messenger acounts (somenthing is going extremely wrong on messenger servers) Does any body confirm my theory?

Anonymous said...

Having the same problem as the above, its not just msn messenger , trillian and Gaim also wont work. It obviously has to do with the user account.

Anonymous said...

Strongly agree with Luis Rodrigues - it is some user account problem. For sure not client installation problem. Question is, when this issue will be solved...

It seems that the servers are currently experiencing problems, and we have bad luck because the servers that are crazy manage our f... accounts...
Just now i have realised how i am dependent on messenger to work, to chat, to study.... I would prefer that my mobile phone went crazy than my messenger account! I have 80 contacts on MSN!!!
Messenger please come back!!!!
I'm am almost on the process of giving up my actual account...

There is an official post about messenger server problems: http://messengersays.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!5B410F7FD930829E!25175.entry

It seems that some machines overheated, but actualy i don't know if that is the direct cause, because i haven't read all the text (really funny and easy to read), but probably that's the reason why our account's went crazy...

Anonymous said...

i have that problem since 2 days and my contacts can send me a message only when i sent them a message before! hope the messenger team is fixing this error as soon as possible, because it's very annoying!!! *grrr* thanks in advance!!

Anonymous said...

I have the same problem...i hope they can fix this problem as soon as possible...

Anonymous said...

Please fix!!! I have the same problem as Luis and every one else. PLEASE FIX ASAP, or at least tell us what is going on and when a solution will be implemented!!

Anonymous said...

I have the same problem! I'm going nuts here! But,I guess you're all English ? Because I'm dutch, and so far I know I'm the only one in my contactlist who's dealing with this problem. All my friends are telling me that they don't have this problem. Sounds this familiar?

Anonymous said...

Same problem here. Also Dutch btw.

Frank said...

Same problem here. I tried many different tricks to fix it, including removing certain registry keys (which has worked in the past to resolve msn problems), but this time nothing works. From my experiments I would put my bet on the accounts being f***ed up too. Big time annoyance. FT.

Anonymous said...

Same problem here! I am from Portugal, and so far the only Portuguese i know with this problem.
No matter what we do, the problem is allways the same and it's, for sure, related to our messenger accounts.
It seems that this problem, for what i have been exploring on blogs and foruns related to messenger, is reaching a few, very unlucky people, us!
It also seems that the majority of the bloggers and forum members are convinced that the problem is related with client problems and i am really loosing my patient with these people that the only advice that they can give us is to upgrade to the new Windows Live Messenger Beta 8.1.
A really strong bug is f...ing our accounts and my opinion is this:
Probably there are several servers that deal with 50 milion of messenger accounts! What servers do? Well, probably when you log in to messenger servers (log in to messenger) they give you your contact list to your client. These servers probably associate each account to the IP adresses of the clients that are online, so, when you click on a contact to chat, your client itinitiates a session with the IP and port that the messenger server gave you (you will never see the IP, only the contact name, unless you install and tun a "Network Protocol Analyser"), all data can be captured "off the wire" from a live network connection!

Now, our problem...
We have our accounts on one of the servers so, i can bet with you that our server is the same and it has a huge BUG. When some one tryes to chat with us get the error message and can't reach us (IP is not granted by the server???)
One of the methods to see if this is really the case is to run a "protocol analyser" on a machine running a "good" messenger account and try to contact with a "f...ed" messenger account... If the IP address of the "f...ed" account does no appear on the Protocol Analyser of the computer runing the "good account" it means that my theory is correct!
Does any one have time to try this!?
A am full of work to do and don't have time to test this...
Ethereal is a good network protocol analyser!

Best Regards from Portugal!

Well, don't know if its a coincidence, but I installed Windows Live Messenger 8.1 beta last night and it worked right away... Hope everybody is free off this bug. Cheers, FT

Unknown said...

well I installed Windows Live Messenger 8.1 beta, however I still cannot send messages. It's been almost 2 months howcome MSN can't come up with real answer to this issue. Please help!!!!

Anonymous said...

Why have you installed beta instead of final version?

Unknown said...

I reinstalled final version numerous times and still getting same problem. "message could not be deliver" and signed me out from messenger. The final version I downloaded was "WINDOW LIVE MESSENGER 8.1". Did this problem ever fixed or not?....

Anonymous said...

I'm getting the same problem as other people. It's carrying on though, people can't seem to message me back, even when I message them and keep the window open.

Tried about everything to fix it including reinstalling, checking my own internet connection, reinstalling again.

It's just getting annoying and all the people on my list are telling me that it's just me and no one else.

Does ANYONE know ANYTHING that can be done?

If you go to this link: https://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=10&ct=1179161385&rver=4.0.1532.0&wp=SAPI&wreply=https:%2F%2Faccount.live.com%2Fsummarypage.aspx%3Fmkt%3Den-gb&lc=2057&id=38936 you can sign in to your account. Go to Settings and then on the right is a link: Contact Us. then click on Windows Live Messenger and fill in the information. On the same day that I did this, I received an email back. They know the problem and if you send a file with sign in information (Information about the file is in the email) back, they are going to try to fix the problem on your account.

Anonymous said...

Im getting the same problem, most contacts cant send me a message unless i have sent them one recently. getting rele annoyed now gonna try the fix but dnt kno if it will work

Anonymous said...

I also have this problem, that people can't send me messages unless I send one to them first.

Crazy as it may sound, there appears to be a 'work around': change your status to 'Appear Offline'.
Sure, people can't see that you are actually there, but if you tell them they _can_ start a conversation with you again.

Unknown said...

Has anyones been fixed just by being patient?

Unknown said...

yes! its working again. just be patient guys. it'll fix itself

Anonymous said...

Just restart.

And if you can't send anything at all, make sure your time's correct (srsly).

friend of mine is receiving this error message half the time she tries tosend a message, but not all the time. =( any suggestions?

Anonymous said...

Are you sure this is not a really sneaky nasty virus that is sending what we are typing to some criminals somewhere, that was my first thought. How can it be attempting to send a mesage to someone else when I am talking to only person A and no-one else. I am still suspicious, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a government spying on people. Now lets see if this paranoid thought makes any sense. The U.S. government just love spying on folks, microsoft would do as they are told. Government want sneaky bits in everyones computer to spy on us, Most folks have MSN, microsoft do as they are told. Where's my tinfoil hat gone???

Anonymous said...

I CANT TALK TO ANYBODY! What the hell!?

Anonymous said...

Disable the handwriting tab.

If you used a packet editor, you would know that MSN is NOT EVEN sending packets out.

Which means that it's not a connection problem but a UI problem.

Resetting your connection 1,000,000 times wont help at all.

Anonymous said...

we all have the same problem :)

Anonymous said...

what I can't accept is they disabled 7.5 when WLM is not working properly, so everyone get to be hassled!
I was very happy with messenger 7.5, now I hate MSN.

What are we doing?!

I just tested the weak signal theory and it didn't hold up.
There is something else going on here.

I like the bad server theory.

HELLO MICRO$OFT!!! Check out your machine already!

Anonymous said...

Microsoft, it's time to let the convertations make direct connections. If you can't support your services, let them be supported by their users!

Anonymous said...

yeah problem for a couple days my ass, msn has had this issue for a long time now.. i get it every couple month. normally its just a day then its gone but other times it can be weeks and week and i'm spending ages copying and pasting everything until it finally sends.
sometimes if you do a system restore it works.
sometimes if you delete ALL of you history logs from messages it works
sometimes if you do a repair on your wireless network it works.

all in all it shouldnt be happening. if microsoft ( the biggest company and run by the RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD) want to offer a service to people then they should really update all their systems. they know itsa a problem ( in 2006) and yet here i am december 2007 and its still and issue. get your priorities set straight microsoft cause really as a company your a joke.

anyway people that have a problem do the 3 things i mentioned .. it should help for a while .. while the server catches up.. you can just imagine microsoft throwing coal into a fire to build up the server power.

Anonymous said...

Seriously. I work at MS fixing hardware and I can't stand the half A$$ software this company puts out. I think the employees plant these bugs for job security. I have this problem as well and as far as I can see, there is no resolution in sight. Switching to Yahoo IM.

Problem Solved.

Ose's Fine Foods said...

This is so retarded. I can't send any message to anyone tonight.

Anonymous said...

its quite simple to fix > tools > options > messages > disable handwriting tab.
and its done.
this is because the problem stems from handwriting, people without the tab can send an recieve messages fine.
an interesting note is that if you have the problem you cant send text at all, but can send hand written drawings fine.
no idea what caused this but any way thats how to fix it.
have fun.

Anonymous said...

This is fucking ridiculous
When will they get off their fat lazy asses and fix this annoying problem

Because of their lazyness, more and more people are switching to Yahoo and other alternatives.

Seriously, they need to sort this out.

Ive tried re-installing MSN, and it works but then it comes back after a while.

I have three Live credentials accounts, but only one is experiencing this issue.
And in fact, the issue only presents on the 2009 version of the Windows Live Messenger.
I'm testing Windows 7 and it happens the same thing in Windows Vista.
My XP has been using Messenger 8.1 and the issue is not present there.
Downgraded Messenger in Vista and the issue again disappeared.
But I don't want to downgrade it on 7. I suggest to refer to tech support so they can be conscious of this very recurrent issue.

Using MSN 7.0.2 for Mac. Has worked fine for months untill a few weeks ago when this problem hit me. It's so god damn annoying. I tried switching to Adium to see if that helped, but the problem is still there. So it has to be a problem with the MSN servers???

Anonymous said...

Microsoft is a bitch, i suggest apple's theyre faster, more reliable, dont get virus, and have way better graphics (but can be hard to work out) they are expensive but unlike microsoft theyre worth it!! my dad had one for 5 years never had a problem with it ever!!!

Zenergyx3 said...

I HIGHLY DOUBT that your father had absolutely NO problems at all. But, yes, Apple is far more reliable and worth it. Also very advanced.

But the problem is, EVERYTHING is on Windows computers. From games to file formats to hardware compatibility, Mac stands virtually no chance against Windows. :\

Anonymous said...

Yeah and also when macs "just work" , They have the worst errors, or so i've been told.
When something does go wrong its EXTREMELY Hard to fix, And want to upgrade? Too bad, buy a new computer.

PC's > Macs.
They will always be better till another OS comes along.

if its really bad and annoying. and you have 2 computers use msn plus and sign in one 2 computers then the problem goes away!

tried it and it works!

Not having exactily 'that' problem, but I can't click links; they stopped turning blue (Yes, I checked the options. The box is marked correctly.) As well, I can't send very large ink messages anymore as I could on previous versions; that stopped working and forced me to download 9.0.

If anyone has a solution for me, please write to:

E-mail: Demyx.IX@Live.com

no offense but MS is maybe the worst software developer on this world.
all they care about is money and how to force people to be stuck with only MS products.
